Early Rectangular Basket

This 19th century New England splint basket with a large carved candle has a wonderful nut brown patina and is in very good condition. There is a bit of green paint brushed on one side and visible in the second photograph paragraph. This is a very heavy and sturdy utilitarian basket and measures 29" long, 14" wide, and 14"1/2 high to the top of the handle.
